Overview
Zoology is the branch of biology that studies the animal kingdom, its structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct, and how they interact with the ecosystem. The Department of Zoology at SCU aims to provide good education to students and contribute to the development of Animal Sciences and Zoological studies. It places emphasis on the laboratory component in the teaching curriculum and research projects.
Vision
The department is looking forward to preparing human cadres that have the ability to contribute to keeping pace with the requirements of the modern era and community development. It enhances the university’s educational level, scientific research, and community service in the areas of zoology depending on the criteria of quality assurance and accreditation to meet the requirements of the local labor market and Regional ones.
Mission
The department aims to teach and develop scientific programs in different fields of zoology in a way that encourages scientific excellence and innovation. And the ability to identify community problems and contribute to solving them to develop the Egyptian community in general and the Suez Canal region community in particular.

- 12 credit hours (elective), chosen from faculty’s other majors, which serve students’ majors (Geology- Zoology- Botany- Applied Geo physics- Marine biology- Marine sciences- Microbiology). They’re divided equally on both semesters (6 hours+ 6 hours)
- Majors’ requirements: 108 credit hours, divided as follows, on 3rd’, 4th, and 5th levels:
