The main goal of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences, Suez Canal University is to produce professional mathematicians who will be able to study and solve scientific and technological issues using mathematical methods as well as carry out research in different sectors of this sphere. We promise you a friendly, working, and welcoming atmosphere in our department during your 4 years of study at SCU.
Vision
The Mathematics department aims to graduate qualified students with scientific logical thinking and scientific research skills in mathematics and computer science to serve the canal cities in particular and the rest of the republic in general.
Mission
Preparing qualified graduates who possess scientific logical thinking and research skills in mathematical sciences in the Mathematics Department in a manner that serves the Canal region in particular and the rest of the Arab Republic of Egypt in general, by a system that takes into account the ethics of the profession and quality standards.
Goals
General and educational objectives of the Mathematics Program:
- Encourage a view of mathematics as a way of thinking and as a language for communicating ideas, and develop effective ways of visualizing and thinking more generally.
- Apply mathematical methods to other areas of knowledge.
- Develop critical, analytical, and personal skills that prepare students to be active contributors to the intellectual life of society;
- Learn the tools and ethics of scientific research.
- Develop his knowledge in the specialized field continuously and be qualified for the public sector and real job market.
- Recognize distance education and hybrid learning programs and systems for managing distant electronic meetings.
- Use efficient electronic systems that support digital transformation, including hybrid learning and distant electronic meetings.
